a publicação se passa por dois momentos em pontos distintos, geográfica e historicamente falando, abordando os massacres ocorridos nas cidades de ipatinga, no interior do estado de minas gerais, e gwangju, na coreia do sul. um precede o golpe militar (ipatinga), enquanto o outro ocorre durante e estabelece o começo da resistência contra a ditadura militar (gwangju). o massacre de gwangju, ou o movimento de democratização de gwangju, possui uma forte memória no povo sul-coreano, sendo comemorado anualmente não somente um doloroso e trágico capítulo da história moderna do país, mas também lembrado como o divisor de águas para sua democracia por meio da luta popular. o período, de 18 de maio à 27 de maio de 1980, representa a primeira luta armada contra militares na ditadura da coreia do sul, desde o fim da guerra da coreia em 1953. a publicação foi uma das finalistas do prêmio dente de 2019, na categoria zine.

the publication takes place in two different moments, geographically and historically speaking, addressing the massacres that took place in the cities of ipatinga, in the interior of the state of minas gerais, and gwangju, in south korea. one precedes the military coup (ipatinga), while the other takes place during and establishes the beginning of resistance against the military dictatorship (gwangju). the gwangju massacre, or the gwangju democratization movement, has a strong memory in the people of south korean, being annually commemorated not only a painful and tragic chapter of the country's modern history, but also remembered as the landmark for their democracy. through popular struggle. the period, from may 18 to may 27, 1980, represents the first armed struggle against the military in the south korean dictatorship, since the end of the korean war in 1953. the publication was one of the finalists for the 2019 dente award, in the zine category.
