"Mugunghwa" (무궁화, "rose of Sharon", the national flower of Korea) is an illustration series produced in partnership with PlayGround Brazil. Inspired by the 책거리 (chaekgori, a traditional Korean still lifestyle from the Joseon Period), the series showcases poems by renowned modern Korean poets: Kim So-wol, Yi Sang, Jeong Ho-seung, and Namgung Byeok. The poems were translated into Portuguese by Prof. Dr. Yun Jung Im.

The same illustrations were displayed at the "Poesia Coreana" exhibit from April to June at the Florestan Fernandes Library of the Faculty of Philosophy, Literature, and Human Sciences (FFLCH) of USP. The exhibit also showcased the work of two Korean calligraphers, Sung Ju Na and Jong In Kim. We held a finissage event that included a round-table discussion about the event and modern Korean poetry history, followed by a poetry recital featuring bachelor students of the Faculty of Korean Language/Literature.
At the moment, the very same illustrations that were exhibited at USP have been donated to the Korean Cultural Center of Brazil and are now part of the permanent collection, currently on display in its library space.
